We are excited to announce that our parish is hosting a Holiday Craft Fair on Saturday, December 7th, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM in the church hall. To make this event a success, we need your help!
We are seeking volunteers to assist the Parish Council with event planning, as well as help in spreading the word and encouraging participation from crafters interested in securing a table at the fair.
If you're interested in lending a hand with the planning or helping us recruit crafters, please reach out! Your support will be key in making this event a wonderful success for our parish community. Contact Info: [email protected] or phone 603-921-1034
The Parish Council serves the St. John Neumann community in a variety of ways. To quote from the Mission Statement, our role is to:I. Nurture the spiritual growth and address the needs of the Catholic community of St. John Neumann II. Encourage the development and use of gifts and talents for service to all III. Create a welcoming atmosphere in which all people are lovingly accepted IV. Inspire a spirit of joy, learning, excitement, sharing, openness and love |
We accomplish these goals in many different ways. As a representative body serving the parishioners, we participate in a variety of ministries and assist the staff. We serve as the focal point for issues and concerns of the parish. And we function as advisors to the pastor and staff on matters that affect us all. Serving on the Parish Council is a special privilege, one that is taken very seriously by those who are called. Each of us commits to a three-year term and members can serve a maximum of two consecutive terms. In addition, we encourage input from our youth and they too can serve on the council (usually a one year commitment). |

Selection of new Council members is accomplished through a Discernment Process. Parishioners nominated by their peers, or who feel themselves called to serve, are invited to a series of meetings. At these meetings, the details of serving on the Council are outlined, questions are answered, and candidates are asked to participate in prayerful contemplation. Each candidate explores their own relationship with God, the church, and the parish, and seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is a truly wonderful, personal experience, one where you honestly feel the Holy Spirit either encouraging you further or holding you back. |
