FOOD PANTRY & OUTREACH The FOOD PANTRY serves the needs of the local (Merrimack) community. An individual or family can sign-up and receive food for three meals a day for 15 days. Pre-registration is required. The FOOD PANTRY is open Friday mornings from 10 AM to 12:00 PM. Special baskets are distributed for Thanksgiving and Easter. Volunteers serve and stock the pantry. For more information about the FOOD PANTRY or about volunteer opportunities, please contact Evelyn Verbeck at St John Neumann OUTREACH, working together with the town welfare department and other local charities, has limited means of providing for emergency financial assistance to individuals and families. DAY AWAY is a respite care program for adults with early stages of Alzheimer's disease or other related disorders. Trained volunteers provide physical and mental stimulation designed to enhance the sense of self worth in each participant while allowing the caregivers of the participants one day a week to spend as they wish. The program is held every Thursday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. To learn more about the program or about volunteering to help, please contact Kathy Hopkins Meets the 2nd Saturday of the month from 9:30 to 11:00 AM. The group provides for emotional and spiritual support, as well as practical assistance to men and women who have lost a spouse. We also offer education and other services to the widowed and their families during the grieving period. We connect survivors to essential resources conducive to positive growth.
