History:
The First Friday Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus The Catechism (#2669) says, "the prayer of the Church venerates and honors the Heart of Jesus ... which, out of love for men, he allowed to be pierced for our sins." Those who attend Mass on nine consecutive first Fridays, and who receive Holy Communion (offered in reparation for offenses against the Blessed Sacrament), are promised the grace of final perseverance
