Creation Care Team

The creation care team is a parish ministry designed to bring light and life to Pope Francis’ encyclical: Laudato Si’: On Care For Our Common Home.

This ministry accomplishes this through …
·       Prayer: How can we give glory to God for Creation?
·       Reflection: How can we learn more about our relationship with God, our neighbors, and all of Creation?
·       Action: What does our faith make our feet do for Creation?

Before the pandemic, this ministry sponsored a mini-retreat about Laudato Si, and worked with the Boy Scouts on eh creation of compost bins and the community gardens.

Join us for a screening of The Letter - A Message for Our Earth, a brilliant and moving documentary that focuses on the Care for Creation message of Pope Francis, who urges us “to hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor,” while encouraging climate change action on a global scale.

The Letter tells the story of a journey to Rome of frontline leaders to discuss the encyclical letter Laudato Si’ with Pope Francis. The exclusive dialogue with the Pope, included in the film, offers a revealing insight into the personal history of Pope Francis and stories never seen since he became the Bishop of Rome.

Tuesday, August 29th at 6:30pm in the Parish Hall.
