Our Ministry
The creation care team is a parish ministry designed to bring light and life to Pope Francis’ encyclical: Laudato Si’: On Care For Our Common Home.
This ministry accomplishes this through …
· Prayer: How can we give glory to God for Creation?
· Reflection: How can we learn more about our relationship with God, our neighbors, and all of Creation?
· Action: What does our faith make our feet do for Creation?
Before the pandemic, this ministry sponsored a mini-retreat about Laudato Si, and worked with the Boy Scouts on eh creation of compost bins and the community gardens.

We are planning on planting a small pollinator habitat on church property - and the planting will take place in November. We have a location, but we need to plan how to dig up and amend the soil decide if the seeds we have are adequate and ideally, get the community involved.

An examen is a daily prayer that involves reflecting on your day, your life. In this case, the examen helps you look at how your life choices impact creation and the poor and vulnerable. We invite you to take one and practice this examen.
As part of the Season of Creation, you are invited to consider where your food comes from. Eating food that is locally sourced supports local businesses and uses less energy because food is not being transported hundreds or thousands of miles.Please consider purchasing your fruit, vegetables, eggs, etc. from local. Let's Recycle More Together...
In an attempt to reuse materials and help reduce our landfills & polution, we've joined the NexTrex plastic recycling challenge. You'll find the plastic bag/wrap collection bins in the coat closet and the church hall. So please bring in your clean materials indicated below for this recycling effort. NOTE: No hard plastics/paper in these.
As of October 4th, we've collected 811 lbs!! IF we collect another 189 pounds by December 31st, Trex will donate a trex bench to the parish. Let;s keep up the great work :-)

The Letter - A Message for Our Earth
The Letter - A Message for Our Earth is a brilliant and moving documentary that focuses on the Care for Creation message of Pope Francis, who urges us “to hear the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor,” while encouraging climate change action on a global scale.
